Evelyn update…

Shortly after getting home from Evelyn ‘s week of treatments in July, she came to Jarrod and I with her Bible and said she wanted to read us something.

She opened to Psalm 23 and read… “Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need!
He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He gives me new strength. He helps me do what honors him the most.
Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.
You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow!
Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home.”
She shared that this Psalm makes her so happy especially knowing that the Lord is her Shepherd. 😊 It is a blessing that the Lord speaks to little ones through His word.
Evelyn has responded well to her treatments… We are very thankful to the Lord. Before we even arrived home, we saw drastic neurological improvement. She is doing better then she has in the last year and a half… It is wonderful to see.
She is not completely recovered from the encephalitis and other issues she is facing, but improving and no longer regressing, which is so wonderful. She is no longer “lost in her own world” and her mind is clearer then it has been in a long, long time. This treatment also will help her epilepsy and Hashimoto’s. Overall, she is doing better….she feels better, and has more energy also.
Exploring with her siblings…

As we know well from Peter, dealing with these type of health issues, there are lots of ups and downs… Steps and forwards and steps backwards… We have to keep our eyes on Jesus always… Or the roller coaster ride mental issues cause can be devastating. “Looking unto Jesus, the authors and finisher of our faith…” Hebrews 12:2 …and in Him is perfect peace, in spite of the storm.

The Lord has blessed Evelyn with a very kind, patient little sister… Just like she was for Peter, when she was young.
Big brother’s hat and glasses…
Once again, Evelyn has been able to be the big/little sister Peter needs…
