Texas is divided up into 7 regions, each with their own distinct geographical features. We live on the western edge of the prairie and lakes region. Just west of us is the hill country, the terrain is hilly with steep canyons. Saturday we enjoyed the beautiful sweeping views on an outing with Daddy.Peter was sure he could see England from this overlook.😊 The Colorado River is in the distance. We went hiking at the Balcones Canyonlands national wildlife refuge. We enjoyed the trails, and even the drive through this national wildlife refuge was fascinating… Plateaus and canyons, creeks and little waterfalls, and a very different ecosystem then we are used to!The cactus shapes fascinate the girls… especially heart shaped ones.❤️These beautiful flowers were blooming in abundance along the rocky trail lined with scrubby trees and cactus.Jarrod Andrew leads the way… watching for snakes…😀The creeks and rivers are so clear and aqua colored due to the shale bottoms. The temperatures were only in the 60s but it was hot for us northerners! The sun has a different intensity then we are used to. ☀️And where are we now?! Daddy, consulting the map…😊we had hiked to the top of a plateau. It was quite the climb…But the views were amazing! These three were good little troopers and had quite the conversations along the hikes… so many new things to see and discuss!Walk alongside me, daddy and hold my little hand. I have so many things to learn that I don’t yet understand. Teach me things to keep me safe from dangers every day. Show me how to do my best at home, at school, at play.Every child needs a gentle hand to guide them as they grow. So walk alongside me, daddy – We have a long way to go. (Helen Bush)
Having Daddy along for a day of exploring, makes it 10,000 times better! ❤
The trees of the LORD drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted, Where the birds build their nests, And the stork, whose home is the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim. He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting… O Lord, how many are your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions. From Psalm 104.
