Always in our memories…

The news just came to me
A warrior’s down.
God called His servant home,
From the battle ground.
His work on earth is through,
He gave his best.
In love he served,
And we’ve been blessed.”

Four years ago today, Jesus came and carried Dad home. We miss him, very much, the pain is still there, but we have hope. We do not “sorrow as others who have no hope” (1Thess 4:13).

Dad’s life was a life marked by sacrifice, he gave all…he laid down his hopes, his plans, his life for the Lord and for his family. My life is very blessed because of it… “The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Yes, I have a good inheritance.” Psalm 16:6

💕Dad’s favorite person ever…He gave his life for his children, but mom was the light of his life.💕

Warrior down.
Lord, he was brave,
He fought a good fight,
He kept the faith.
He served with honor
And he is missed.
Warrior down
But his spirit lives.”

A warrior’s down
But it’s not in vain.
‘Cause this old world’s loss,
Well, it’s heavens gain.
We salute his memory,
Till we meet again.
Goodbye soldier,
I’ll see you later, Dad.”

Dad loved hymns, He loved singing hymns and had many favorites. One that he loved to sing was “I Stand Amazed”. As a girl, I knew how much he loved this song and I asked him why. He said, with tears in his eyes, “because the love of Jesus is so amazing”.

“I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner condemned, unclean.

How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
How marvelous! How wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!”

Jarrod at times says… “if only your dad was still here.” It is hard not to feel that way, but the Lord does “all things well” and our hope is in Him. Mark 7:37)

🖤A life of faith…My Dad🖤

Proverbs 17:6 An old man’s grandchildren are
his crowning glory.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now I’m found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’twas Grace that taught,
my heart to fear.
And grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come. ’tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
as long as life endures.
