It was the middle of a quiet summer night, 12 years ago in a little white house surrounded by fields of corn and soybeans. The only sounds were crickets chirping and the muffled whispers and prayers between mom and Jarrod and the midwife. After several miscarriages, we were very eagerly arriving this baby’s arrival.

It was just after midnight, he arrived…wet, warm and so lovable! Mom cried, “it’s a boy!” And soon Peter Arlington was in my arms…oh, the joy this baby brought into our lives…bright eyed and happy, smiling at just a few days old.

Eye to eye contact was very important to him from day one…he loved our attention and did anything he could to get it! He adored Jarrod and Guinevere…was never far from them, as they always wanted him near.

Peter arrived in our lives during a peaceful interlude, bringing so much happiness.

This baby that brought so much joy was to also bring, by his life, depths of grief and pain we could never have imagined. Through his life we are learning that one thing is necessary, “looking unto Jesus” (Heb 12)…and to be “seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word.” (Luke 10:39)

The Lord has revealed Himself to us through Peter’s life, He has answered many prayers, going before us, making the “crooked places, straight.” (‘I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places. Isaiah 45:2,3)

❤️The day he became a big brother!❤️

The Lord has bound up broken hearts, continually reminding us, that His grace is sufficient. “He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness’.” (2 Cor. 12:9)

Peter’s life brings us great joy and continually causes us to draw near to the throne of Grace to find help in our time of need. (Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16)

The Lord has brought much beauty out of Peter’s broken life, touching hearts and lives through his innocent love and joy he spreads.❤️

Little sister having a tea party with him…he loves a tea party! It means he will get something yummy to drink and eat!😀
❤️He loves his daddy…No one can make him laugh like Dad!❤️

Life can be very confusing for him…he sheds many tears and his heart is often broken by things he doesn’t understand but oh, how he loves to laugh! ❤️
