Peter’s update from April…

Peter’s overall health continues to improve and his neurological development amazes me some days. I cannot believe where he has come from a year ago, when we were desperately trying to find an Anti-psychotic medication that would make life bearable for him and all of us, every one the doctor tried, Peter reacted to.

The Lord brought another doctor into our lives and through nutrition (fresh organic vegetable juice everyday, green smoothies, a very strict diet) he helped us get Peter off all medications. And eventually, Peter’s health started to improve and now the last few months especially, we are amazed at the healing that is evident in his brain. This doctor agrees with Peter’s doctor, that Peter should get another round of IVIG. He has a compromised immune system, affecting so many aspects of his life. The IVIG has helped with that.

We are so thankful for the Lord’s continual guiding…The many prayers answered, the strength for each day, His faithfulness in carrying us through many difficult times.

Evelyn has had a difficult winter developing PANDAS (a type of encephalitis…Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) again this fall after strep went through the house. It was several months before she was diagnosed and getting treated for it and she also started having nocturnal seizures. The last two weeks she is much much better, most of her symptoms are gone. I am so thankful to the Lord. It is very difficult to see her so prone to the same path as Peter. We are very thankful we understand so much more and can get her help before the inflammation causes damage, as in Peter’s case… he went two years undiagnosed.

“Every day the Lord Himself is near me,

With a special mercy for each hour;

All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,

He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.

The protection of His child and treasure

Is a charge that on Himself He laid;

‘As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,’

This the pledge to me He made.”

(from the hymn “Day by Day”.)
