Early Summer 2023

“…the children whom the LORD has given me…” Is 8:18 (some of😊) We are thankful for all of them.

In the late spring and summer months…the walks are early morning or late evening. This was before the drought was severe and there was still water in the creek nearby.

They love looking for crayfish, fish, frogs, lizards and snakes. Once in awhile there is a scorpion.

Exploring new places

And spending time at some of their favorite places…

A peaceful place to walk and picnic…

Lend a helping hand…

And cool off!

It is a spring fed lake…even in the drought, everything in this vicinity was lush and green and the waterfalls, flowing.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD
And whose trust is the LORD.
“For he will be like a tree planted by the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought
Nor cease to yield fruit.
” Jeremiah 17:8

Our cucumber plant, that provided so many cucumbers, for months! We were so thankful, as I have not been successful in growing vegetables down here.

An evening walk

The sun setting over the near by lake.

Enjoying her morning coffee…

Reading to her big brother…(he loves his sisters!)

Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse, and pow’r to free:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor,
Early let us do Thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Savior,
With Thy love our bosoms fill:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still.

In December, Evelyn will finish up a year of immunotherapy treatments in Dallas. They have helped her some, we will stop now and see how she does.

Jeremiah 17:14 “Lord, you alone can heal me, you alone can save, and my praises are for you alone.
